Minimalizing

Since we'll most likely be living at our Little Red House for another year or so, we've been working hard to organize every last space and make it a more liveable place for a family of three, should we have a baby here. The most recent developments have me thrilled & sighing every time I enter the living room.

In December, we purged & moved the pile of boxes that was on the side of the couch to behind the couch for a more clean look, and so that we would have a place to set up our Christmas tree.

Last month, we acquired a storage unit and once again purge & moved that pile, this time ending up with a much smaller stash of stuff and donating everything that was truly unnecessary. We took everything that we could spare to the unit and have had a much less cluttered home since. Once the clutter was removed, we were itching to bring more change to the house, so we switched up the entire living room.

If you're looking for a "before & after", hop over to last year's post about the previous interior of our place.

Exciting, right? Okay, I admit, this post is super boring unless you're me. I won't be offended if you skip over this post and come back when I share something more intriguing. ;)

  1. Not boring!! I love purging and reorganizing the things we already have. It is so satisfying, productive, and freeing! We just had a garage sale a few weekends ago and it felt SO good to get stuff out of the house/garage and NOT bring it back!
